Description Volume one of three bound collections of printed documents and forms relating to the Great Exhibition. This first volume also includes a catalogue at the front of the contents of all three volumes. This volume contains reports, commissions and charters of the Society of Arts; documents on the promotion and publicizing of the fair, including letters sent to newspapers; documents of the local committees who helped organize the fair; papers on the collection of subscriptions to fund the exhibition; reports on public meetings; communications sent to foreign participants; initial ideas on classifications; and documents on the design and construction of the Crystal Palace.
